Kamal Kant

Kamal Kant is a seasoned business leader with over 26 years of global experience in cross-border payments, foreign exchange (FX), and financial technology businesses. His career spans leadership roles across startups, multinational banks, and payment processors, bringing a rare blend of strategic foresight, operational execution, and market expansion expertise.

 

As an advisor to Paves Technologies, Kamal offers deep insight into the evolving landscape of cross-border transactions, payment orchestration, and FX optimization. His work is particularly valuable in supporting Paves’ mission to deliver seamless, efficient, and secure embedded financial services to businesses operating across international markets.

 

At Network International, Kamal led the creation and global expansion of the third-largest digital card-based FX solution for merchants and banks, delivering significant scale and value to clients across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. His leadership encompassed product strategy, commercial pricing, acquiring, and partner relationship management.

Previously, as Chief Operating Officer of PayQuik, a pioneering fintech startup offering white-label cross-border remittance solutions for banks in emerging markets, Kamal drove operational growth and strategic direction until the company’s acquisition by Citigroup in 2008. Post-acquisition, he continued to build and expand Citi’s international payout network through high-value partnerships.

 

Kamal’s payments journey began with Western Union India (1998–2002), where he played a pivotal role in establishing the brand’s market presence and franchise network across the subcontinent.

 

A recognized expert in payment processing, Kamal has developed multi-year go-to-market strategies, executed client-facing product roadmaps, and built scalable revenue models for high-growth businesses. His advisory work draws from hands-on experience with acquiring, FX revenue optimization, and merchant solutioning.

 

He currently serves on the boards of and advises several promising startups in the payments, FX, and cross-border finance sectors, contributing thought leadership and strategic guidance on growth, monetization, and technology adoption.
